Another tip that will probably seen obvious. I specialize in that sort of thing.
Here it is: You can change your rosters prior to the start of a contest. Unless you entered shortly before the deadline, you might want to take a minute and double check your roster(s).
Believe me, there are times when you'll want to do just that. Let me give you an example: This week, when checking results, I was annoyed to find that I had Pierre Thomas of the Saints in one of my contests. Thomas was hurt and inactive. I knew that. But I had entered the contest in question several days previously and I didn't know about the injury at the time I entered. Plus I didn't remember taking Thomas. This is an obvious and stupid mistake. And lest you think it's totally uncommon, I also found that I had Matt Cassel of the Pats in one contest - I remembered having selected him in one contest and swapped him out when I saw the weather during the pregame shows, but as it turns out I had taken him in TWO contests. Never trust your memory!
Fortunately, these were dollar contests, so I really only lost $2. But any half decent running back in place of Thomas would have gotten me a cash, so this was lost opportunity too. Idiot.
Don't be like me - double check your rosters!
