If I weren't into consistent post titling, this one would carry a header of "DeAngelo Williams Saved My Bacon".
Ended up in fourteen contests. Twelve cashes. In a tough week for scoring, I had three contests decided by less than one point - two of those decisions going my way. The one that didn't was regrettable, as it was in one of my highest (lol) buyin contests. Kudos to cwfoot, who was the only player in any of my contests that I saw picking Matt Forte, and Forte garbage timed just enough points to take a third away from me.
I was also in the odd position this evening of having to root against Adrian Peterson, despite having him in several contests. The way things turned out, he was a factor only in contests where I didn't have him on my roster (at least once I looked sometime in the 2nd half). I think that late TD cost me a few bucks.
No complaints at all though. My QB selections sucked - other than one selection of Matt Ryan in a salary cap contest, none of my picks reached double digit points. Other than Greg Jennings, my receivers also did nothing. Luckboxing was definitely involved to get favorable results from such shaky picks.
In series play, I finished 3rd in my Blogger Battle contest with a mediocre score. The best I can hope for is to pick up a few points in the overall standings. In Sundays With Dr. Pauly my score was also pretty pedestrian, which means that I'm out of the running for the Super TOC unless I set records the next two weeks. Really there's no reason for me to keep playing those, other than the fact that the series brings out some different players.
