Review Your Game

I spent a little time this morning puzzling over my basketball numbers. It hasn't been a particularly good month - the losses are nominal (woo cheeseburgers), but the steady losing is rather annoying. So I plugged some results information into a spreadsheet and sorted it by contest size and type. The results were, uh, illuminating.

Essentially - and I certainly note that this is a VERY small sample size - I have been crushing one type of contest and getting crushed at everything else. Really, this is a more extreme repeat of my football experience - I ran notably better at certain types of contests. In any event, with a decent volume of contests available, I should be playing the games I can win and not screwing around with the others. All I had to do was put it on (virtual) paper to see it.

Between now and the end of the month, I am going to be focusing on that one winning contest type, to see if things can continue. Here's hoping that I'm on to something.

If the sample size is really small, then you should only focus on the type of game you're winning if you have some other reason to believe you are actually better at that type of contest.

Is it just me, or is there no way to reach you privately on this site? I'd like to discuss whether you're interested in being an affiliate for a site of mine (www.draftbug.com) that offers daily fantasy contests. You can reach me at zelvin30@hotmail and I'll provide a lot more detail.
